For many families in the North West, Ribby Hall Village has become a byword for a short break close to home. Set in the countryside near Wrea Green on the Fylde, the holiday village has once again been recognised for the standards it keeps.

In May 2026 Marketing Lancashire reported that Ribby Hall Village had retained its VisitEngland Five Star status following inspection. The village achieved a quality score of 93 per cent, a strong result in one of the most respected grading schemes in English tourism.

The rating reflects more than the comfort of the lodges and cottages. Inspectors recognised consistently high standards across accommodation, facilities, dining and guest experience, the full spread of what makes a stay memorable.

Hayley Thompson, PR and brand manager at the village, said the team was proud of the result. It is a fair reflection of the work done by staff across the site, from housekeeping and leisure to the restaurants.

This is far from a one-off. In February 2024 the same publisher reported that the village had kept its Five Star status for the 12th consecutive year, at a time when the business was also marking 30 years in hospitality. That kind of consistency over more than a decade is not easy to achieve.

Its leisure facilities have earned attention over the years as well. The village's health club has been shortlisted in the National Fitness Awards, and Ribby Hall has previously been recognised with a Green Tourism Gold award for its approach to sustainability.

Part of the appeal is location. The village sits between Preston and the coast, making it easy to combine a relaxed break with days out to Lytham, St Annes or Blackpool, while still enjoying the peace of the Fylde countryside when you return in the evening.

Accommodation, leisure passes and dining can be booked through the Ribby Hall Village website, which lists the different lodge and cottage options. It is worth booking early for school holidays, when the village is understandably popular with families.
