The Woodland Spa in Burnley named best hotel spa for a fourth year

Burnley might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of award-winning spas, but The Woodland Spa has been quietly changing that. Part of the Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort on the edge of the town, it has become one of the most decorated spas in the country.

The latest win followed a major investment. The Woodland Spa has recently undergone a £16m makeover, and the judges of the 2025 awards praised its sense of intimacy and peace, qualities that guests clearly value in a spa day or overnight stay.

It was a good year for Lancashire as a whole. In the same awards, The Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall Village on the Fylde was named Best Day Spa, giving the county two of the top national titles and underlining its growing reputation as a wellbeing destination.

The Woodland Spa has also attracted attention further afield, having been nominated in the World Luxury Spa Awards. For a spa rooted in the Lancashire countryside, it is a sign of how far its reputation now travels.
